commute on two major east bay freeways. bob redell is live in pleasanton where 680 south was shut down completely after a deadly accident there. bob, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, jon. only the left shoulder is open right now. all four lanes are still shut down. chp telling us they hope to have those lanes opened within an hour, though that timeline could be sped up. what happened is somebody was struck in the middle of the road around 3:30 this morning. you can see the coroner's van is here. they just removed that body, which seems to be a little bit sooner than was expected so it's quite possible the road could be opened up sooner than expected. what still needs to happen is the fire department needs to come out here and/or caltrans and do a quick cleanup. there's also a couple of cars that need to be removed. a person in a small car hit this person in the middle of the road. it was a man. around 3:30 this morning. it was not a hit and run. the driver of the car did stop and is cooperating with chp. it does not appear that the person who was hit was a driver who had
